Don Henrico's Run: Help Save a Life Today

Consider this your Christmas present to society - local Italian restaurant Don Henrico's is going outside of its usual venture this December with a new found purpose of saving lives, courtesy of a charity marathon event.

Named the 1st Don Henrico's Run: Help Save a Life today, this urban race aims to aid the Sagip Buhay Medical Foundation, a local organization that provides medications to our les fortunate brothers and sisters admitted at the Medicine Wards and ICUs of the Philippine General Hospital in Manila.

The run will take place at the CCP Complex, Pasay City on December 17, 2011 at exactly 3:30pm - just in time to catch a glimpse of the scenic view of the sunset bay, according to the organizers. Clever idea.

Interested participants can register at 3K, 5K, and 10K races at all Don Henrico's outlets in Metro Manila from October 25 to December 15, 2011. Upon registration (registration fee is P600 for the 3 category); registered runners will automatically get their race kits that include a singlet, a bib number, and an exclusive post event shirt.

Don Henrico’s RUN Finishers will get the following right after the run on their respective tent on a per category level:

· FREE 500 Cash Vouchers (subject to terms and conditions stated on it)

· FREE Slice of Pizza on a first-come-first serve basis and is available until supply lasts

· Don Henrico’s RUN Certificate of Participation

And to make things even better, the top three placers of male and female for each category will receive medals and cash prizes:

· P5,000/ P4,000 & P3,000 for the top 3 winners of 10K run

· P4,000 / P3,000 & P2,000 for the top 3 winners of 5K run and

· P3, 000 / P2, 000 & P1, 000 for the top 3 winners of 3K run.

The entire proceeds for this event will help provide assistance to healthcare professionals at the said hospital, which inevitably leads to more financially dependable patients getting treatment and more lives saved.

"One of the brand's mission statements is to share and help improve the quality of life in the community that we serve," says Anthony Mercado, Corporate Marketing Manager of Don Henrico's Pizza Foods Corporation. "And what a better way to celebrate the Christmas season than to do something you love at the income of those in need."

The Management of Don Henrico’s really appreciates the support that Chris Sports extended to this very first CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) project initiated by the brand. Being Don Henrico’s partner as official registration centers of Don Henrico’s RUN makes this event more popular and much accepted by running enthusiasts, local and foreign runners.

Hair Rebonding

Hair rebonding is the process of making hair super straight and super shiny with the help and use of straightening chemicals and hair iron. For some, it takes three to six months to actually have the original hair grow back. Luckily for others, it takes a year or more for the hair to lose its sleek appearance.

If it's your first time to experience hair rebonding, do take note of the following to ensure that hair quality does not suffer:

1. Go to a reputable hair salon and make sure your hair rebonding process will be done by an experienced hairstylist.
2. Do not hesitate to ask the necessary questions pertaining to the condition of your hair before and after rebonding.
3. Once the hair is rebonded, the hair needs extra care - a post treatment is a MUST to avoid hair fall, dry and brittle hair.
4. Use special shampoo for chemically treated hair
5. Use conditioner every shower
6. Use leave in conditioner
7. Deep condition hair twice a month
8. Eat a balanced diet.

I had my hair rebonded at Oskee Cabeltis Salon, located at the Ground Floor of The Venue Tower, Boni Avenue, Mandaluyong City.

BUM Fashion Show

Cosplay and BUM fanatics witnessed a one-of-a-kind fashion event that inspired them to express their angst, passion, and identity more freely through BUM Collections. As BUM believes, "if you have a story to tell, don’t keep it to yourself. Flaunt and let the world know through fashion. This has been the youth’s battle-cry these days. Not only are they daring, wearing their colors on their sleeves proudly, they are pushing the envelope when it comes to dressing up, as well.

To underscore this “daring” and “experimental” style philosophy, BUM put together this fashion show last November 25 at the Music Hall of the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Ipanema and Five Fashion Mavens

Ipanema and five fashion mavens joined forces in creating vibrant Resort Wear Collection 2012 for Philippine Fashion Week. Anthony Nocom, Lyle Ibanez, Raoul Ramirez, Catherine Cavilte, and Dave Ocampo derived inspiration for their creation from no less than - Ipanema's stylish flip flops.

Raoul Ramirez

At last year's Spring-Summer fashion week, Ramirez created a collection defined by foil safari prints. His garments were sweeping floor-length gowns with billowy ombré trains and various close-necked jackets, square-leg shorts, vests, and trousers for men. For Ipanema Resort Wear Collection 2012, he created a look that based on the metallic characteristics of the Ipanema New Trance Fem and the floral accents of the elevated aesthetics of the Ipanema Ritmos Ad.

Lyle Ibanez

Ibanez’s look for Ipanema Resort Wear Collection 2012 was inspired from the Ipanema Ritmos II Ad, a sling back flip-flops that has flowers appliqués and subtle geometric patterns. Inspired by his numerous travels abroad, matched with his personal style philosophy of always staying comfortable, Ibanez’s designs can be worn on the beach or on fabulous night-outs. “It’s very structured, and yet still soft. I also went crazy with colors from pastels to brights, with lots of interesting silhouettes and rich fabrics like silk dupione, chiffon and jerseys,” Ibanez shares.

Dave Ocampo

Ocampo's clothing designs feature a lot of tailored cuts, geometric shapes and figures. He said when designing, he considers class, glamour and elegance. He is drawn to Victorian and Wall Street fashion as well as corporate looks. His contribution to the Resort Wear Collection 2012 highlights a more relaxed look with more skin and very light in terms of fabric, complementing the floral accents of the Ipanema Ritmos Ad and the Ipanema Ritmos III Ad. “My collection celebrates the colors of summer and feminism to emphasize the silhouette of women. With that I used spandex and stretch tool material with floral and circular prints combined with bright and vibrant colors that are very comfortable in terms of cuts and designs,” Cavilte describes, “and with that, only a footwear like Ipanema can match my collection for this season.”

Catherine Cavilte

Cavilte was hailed as one of the "12 Young Designers To Watch Out For" by a local fashion magazine. She is the youngest of the bunch that were chosen to create a look inspired by an Ipanema flip-flop. She said her designs for Ipanema's Resort Wear Collections complement spring/summer elegance that features earthy tones and animal prints mounted on plain silk satins. She said the Ipanema Appliques Ad II and Ipanema Classica Envolvente can be easily paired with her flowy dresses that ladies can wear casually on the beach or at dinner parties.

Anthony Nocom

Also known as “Tonichi,” Nocom has been designing men's wear since the 1980s. For Ipanema's Resort Wear Collection, he said that it is the kind that one would wear from dusk to evening at a resort for a night of partying. “The collection is not your regular t-shirt or tank top with board shorts, but more of a classier and dressier kind,” Nocom futher enthuses. “Using fabrics in cotton, linens, silk blends, jersey knits and more, combined with a relaxed and cool attitude — one is surely dressed in luxe style for any high-end resort,” he added. Nocom's look was inspired from the bold beach colors from the Ipanema Surf Tomas Masc II and the classic black and white tribal prints of Ipanema Classica Urbana Masc. “The colors of my collection are neutrals—white, blue to black, with bright colors as accents. With Ipanema’s collection for men to match the clothes is so perfect with my fashion collection,” Nocom said.

Triumph at Philippine Fashion Week

Triumph International celebrates its 125th anniversary this year with a bang as they joined Philippine Fashion Week at SMX last Friday. The show started with welcome address from Mr. Kenneth Marshall, Triump's Global Government International Project Manager. Then one by one, the models - who we thought were just guests, stand up from the audience seat, took off their dresses then parade down the red carpet wearing fashionable undergarments.

Triumph continues to develop their design and craftsmanship by giving the world the best undergarments, lingerie, beach apparels, and sleepwear for men and women. Triumph is still under its founders, Michael Braun and Johann Gottfried Spiesshofer. They produce brands like Sloggi, HOM, Valisere and of course, Triumph.
